Growing up with two HSPs for parents, there was a lot of "calculated risk" involved in our outings. I.e. we'd go whitewater rafting, but great care was taken to make sure we had the right helmet and wetsuits for the Level 5 rapids we'd encounter. Sometimes, there was a bit too much risk, as you describe -- and we'd flip. As an adult, I probably err on the side of caution more often because of that. But the duality of being a sensation-seeking HSP remains. This was a great exploration of the way that feels inside and out.
